PROPERTY STYLING MELBOURNE – IVANHOE EAST

This 90’s townhouse had been lovingly rejuvenated after some years’ service as an investment property.  Restored to its original condition the recarpeted and recently repainted town house in Ivanhoe was also vacant at the time of staging presenting an amazing opportunity to highlight its features.

The styling had to complement the art deco theme of the complex within which the townhouse rested, an iconic external colour scheme and at the same time broadly appeal to potential buyers that could range from investors to downsizers, single parent small families or young professional couples starting out.

The property featured two living areas downstairs including one open plan, kitchen, dining and living area as well as downstairs WC and laundry.  The upstairs landing had two good sized bedrooms leading off from it as well as a family bathroom.  A separate corridor with storage, an en-suite lead through to a master bedroom that overlooked Ivanhoe’s natural assets.

We styled this property using pieces from our Global Luxe theme which connected sympathetically to the colour scheme and the art deco stylings of the property.

The open plan living and dining area was a challenge to style, demonstrating that how you’d live in a property compared with how to best style it for sale is sometimes different.

Placement of furniture in a manner that supports a natural traffic flow was enabled in this situation.  It created an open, conversational space where historically the furniture faced away from the open plan living area and towards the wall, due to the placement of a television in that location.

Effective space planning when staging a property can create natural and inviting spaces as well as calming traffic flow enhancing the experience of the prospective buyers.
