It was a great day when Property Styling Melbourne received the call to review this fantastic original Bentleigh East farm house. The home had been loved as a family home for years however over the past 11 years it had been rented. The house had great bones and was in need of a refresh before hitting the market place. We were fortunate enough to prepare a scope of works that would prepare this property for sale.
The External house was painted in Dulux Hogs Bristle and Otto’s Boy. The owner spent many hours landscaping the front garden. We selected Dulux Whisper White for the inside with quarter strength for the ceiling. The bedrooms were carpeted to be very neutral as you can see in the styling of the master bedroom, this mellow colour pallet was perfect for the bright room and it’s fabulous bay window.
The second bedroom boasts an old fireplace, adding some more old world charm. When styling this room it was essential we made space to sit and read.
The formal lounge took on a 60’s inspired vibe because we wanted to style this large formal living room with furniture that was non-intrusive. We also wanted to give it a look that was a little different to the rest of the house without being too dramatic.
The family room boasts great windows and views on to the backyard, the space is large enough to have the entire family over for Christmas and is very warm and inviting. A large piece of art in this space helped bring it altogether. The significant lounge with a chaise and additional occasional chair speaks to the size of the space.
While the kitchen remained virtually untouched it offers a great functional space with a view of the dining and family room. Several vignettes made the space feel more modern.
There is plenty of space for outdoor entertaining just off the family room, we selected an outdoor dining setting for this space to compliment the quaint built in barbecue.
Overall this was a lovely property styling project for our team and the client was a dream!
